Scientists fear that seismic activity beneath the ocean could kill or compel the fish to the surface. Another theory proposes that the discharge of carbon monoxide gas before to earthquakes may impact these deep-sea organisms. Many social media users have speculated that the fish’s appearance indicates an impending tragedy, with others suggesting that it could be a warning of an approaching earthquake. Oarfish, which may grow to be more than six meters long, are interesting creatures whose appearances have been related to seismic activity.
