5 – Kyle Newman Awarded Sole Custody of His Children Amid Ongoing Custody Battle with Jaime King

Jaime King’s ex-husband, Kyle Newman, has been granted sole physical custody of their two sons, James (11) and Leo (9), with the children primarily residing with him. While both parents share legal custody, Newman will have tie-breaking authority and full physical custody. King will have supervised visitation three times a week, with supervisors including her family members and Newman’s brother.

This decision comes after King’s failure to complete a 6-month drug and alcohol treatment program, which is a condition for unsupervised access to her children. King must also participate in parenting and counseling programs, as stipulated in the court order.

The custody fight between King and Newman is ongoing. In April 2024, King attempted to modify their spousal and child support agreement, citing financial difficulties, while Newman accused her of failing to comply with earlier support judgments. Their divorce, filed in May 2020 after 13 years of marriage, included allegations of domestic violence and custody conflicts. King had previously been accused of addiction disorders, which Newman claims have hampered her parenting abilities, including allegations of substance abuse while pregnant.
